Victory Tour golf shoes

In 2018, Nike and Rory McIlroy, who had recently signed a 10-year contract extension as brand ambassador, considered creating a new golf shoe series. One year later, the Nike Victory Tour arrived with a suave, sophisticated look and an all-round performance design.

The Victory Tour debuted in 2019, its stylish premium leather upper fitted with a waterproof membrane for wet-weather protection and a sturdy woven textile for durability over the instep and collar. A React foam midsole with forefoot Zoom Air and soft heel pods ensures comfort and energy return to help power each swing, while the hybrid outsole plate has two removable heel spikes and four along the lateral forefoot, with fixed tread patterns in between to provide excellent traction and flexibility.

In 2021, Nike evolved the series with the Victory Tour 2, switching the upper to one seamless layer of supple, full-grain leather for a classy look. Inner mesh strapping secures the midfoot, and generous foam padding protruding down the heel spine supports the ankle and Achilles, with perforations on the tongue for a touch of breathability. A full-length Zoom Air unit is stitched directly to the upper for a responsive feel, while the split TPU outsole plate features an extra spike at the front for better traction as it scoops upwards to separate the EVA midsole foam between heel and forefoot. Lastly, a slab of React foam improves shock absorption and springiness beneath the heel.

2023 saw subtle updates on the Nike Victory Tour 3, with microperforations across the forefoot, a wider eyestay area and a woven seam instead of visible padding at the heel. Internally, the midfoot strap contours to the foot for even greater lockdown, while the outsole features two different types of spike, with three counter-rotational Tour Flex Pro forefoot spikes from specialist designer Softspikes and four Silver Tornado spikes along the lateral side and heel. These provide excellent balance, stability and grip, preventing slippage and facilitating a powerful swing. For enhanced comfort, the EVA midsole foam is no longer split by the TPU plate, but extends over the top from heel to toe.

Nike made significant changes to 2025’s Victory Tour 4, introducing a new yet equally stylish upper with a more form-fitting frame and improving containment with a Dynamic Fit system, internal foam collar and sturdy cable eyelets. Its low-profile Cushlon foam midsole is comfortable and offers better ground connection for stability and control. Meanwhile, the outsole contains two additional spikes across its heel, taking the total to nine for maximum grip in wet conditions. A carbon fibre Flyplate supports the sole, controlling vertical forces and ensuring stability and power during the swing while also flexing horizontally for reliable comfort when walking.
