GEL-KINETIC FLUENT

Throughout the early 2020s, ASICS delved into its archives, bringing back a range of mesh runners from the 2000s and 2010s. In 2025, the brand used two of these heritage models – the Gel-Kinetic and Gel-Fluent – as inspiration for a new silhouette called the ASICS Gel-Kinetic Fluent.

The upper of the Gel-Kinetic Fluent features a layer of breathable mesh with flowing synthetic leather overlays and wavy eyestays based on the models it is named after. Recycled fabrics have been incorporated into the panelling for a more sustainable build that reflects the shoe’s use of modern materials. Classic branding includes swooping sidewall logos and ASICS text on the tongue, with Gel and Gel-Kinetic Fluent lettering on the sturdy, protective heel.

As part of the ASICS Sportstyle range, the Gel-Kinetic Fluent is a lifestyle sneaker with the performance features of a technical running shoe, most of which is contained in its sole unit. The midsole combines two powerful technologies, starting with FF Blast Plus Eco foam, which blends EVA with a stretchy thermoplastic polymer and synthetic fibres to create a strong, bouncy material that is incredibly lightweight. While this responsive element dominates the forefoot, in the heel it is joined by chunky Scutoid Gel – an evolution of the brand’s trademark cushioning designed with the ASICS Institute of Sport Science. This has a blocky 3D structure strategically engineered to offer maximum shock absorption and comfort.

The ASICS Gel-Kinetic Fluent also has a durable rubber outsole formed of various globular grip pods for great traction. Meanwhile, the brand’s Trusstic System has been applied to the midfoot, offering a rigid bridge that provides outstanding stability.

Ahead of its release in December 2024, ASICS recruited Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith to appear in a striking advertising campaign that emphasised the retro appeal of the Gel-Kinetic Fluent. Smith showcased the sneaker’s captivating blend of vintage aesthetics, contemporary technologies and distinctive, glossy Gel cushioning. Together, these elements make the ASICS Gel-Kinetic Fluent a comfortable, supportive silhouette with dynamism and style.
