Nike launched its first Victory Tour golf shoe in 2019 after Rory McIlroy expressed a desire for a sophisticated silhouette that evoked the style of traditional footwear while supporting players at the very top of the sport. Four years later, the Nike Victory Tour 3 was released under a similar premise, with various enhancements to improve performance.

Like its predecessors, the Victory Tour 3 features a waterproof, full-grain leather upper that stretches from heel to toe for a seamless look. The cushy moulded collar extends a little way above this leather piece, its generous padding supporting both the heel and the ankles to ensure comfort throughout. Standard lacing combines with an internal midfoot strap that stretches from the tongue to the midsole to offer secure lockdown, while the eyelets are reinforced for extra durability and the slim tongue incorporates perforations for a touch of breathability.

The midsole of the Nike Victory Tour 3 brings together a stitched-in forefoot Zoom Air unit for responsiveness directly below the toes with a slab of full-length, mid-density EVA foam to deliver excellent comfort and shock absorption. Below this, the hybrid TPU outsole plate is divided into two sections, with one reaching the length of the shoe and the other beneath another pad of supportive foam at the heel. Both plates have rippling grip lines and sturdy removable spikes, with two on the heel and five across the forefoot. The three on the medial forefoot are SoftSpikes’ Tour Flex Pro, which are designed for outstanding stability and control, while the others are reliable Silver Tornado spikes. Together, these offer traction and prevent slippage through the swing, allowing the wearer to play with confidence and power.

The Victory Tour 3 continues the signature refined aesthetic of the series through premium materials and details like the dual lines of intricate stitching around its collar and eyestay. Classic Swooshes adorn the flanks, with a golfer logo on the leather tongue patch to keep the look elegantly minimal. Rory McIlroy wore the shoe throughout the 2023 and 2024 seasons, donning a range of colourways, from the psychedelic ‘Live to Play, Play to Live’ to the suave ‘Always Fresh’ and the flashy NRG ‘White Metallic Gold’, repeatedly proving its performance capabilities with multiple tournament wins.
