Structure Plus

Since the early 1990s, Nike’s Structure line has employed innovative stability features to ensure that all runners have access to the very best support. In 2026, the brand took the franchise to the next level by introducing modern super foams into the Structure Plus.

The upper of the Nike Structure Plus pairs a breathable engineered mesh with strategically located overlays that offer structural support in key areas. Cuffed eyelets combine with an internal midfoot band for a secure, personalised fit, while the cushy collar and tongue padding enhance comfort and containment alongside the sturdy heel. When added to the stabilising midfoot support system wrapping from the medial arch to the lateral heel, this provides outstanding support. Lastly, reflective elements have been thoughtfully placed across the upper for visibility during nighttime runs.

Underfoot, the Structure Plus introduces its revolutionary super foams to the franchise for the first time. A layer of lightweight, responsive ZoomX is placed over a firmer, more supportive slab of ReactX, delivering an unprecedented blend of stability and cushioning alongside a healthy amount of energy return. This dual-foam stack reaches 42mm in the heel and 32mm in the forefoot, offering significant impact protection as the wide, stable base works with the midfoot support system to smoothly and steadily guide the foot through each heel-to-toe transition.

The outsole of the Nike Structure Plus also incorporates two different compounds, with a softer, more flexible rubber on the grippy Waffle-style lugs of the forefoot, and firmer, more hard-wearing GG/RS 002 high-abrasion rubber in high-wear zones across the heel. This ensures a great balance of traction and durability, while flex grooves in the forefoot facilitate smooth, natural movement during everyday training and long runs.

Aesthetically, the Structure Plus takes its inspirations from retro running silhouettes, giving it an appealing throwback charm. Its functional elements create distinctive design lines on both the upper and sole, and its most innovative technologies are highlighted with stylised lettering. Meanwhile, Swooshes of various sizes accent everything from the sidewalls and tongue to the forefoot and heel, contributing to its classy look.

Ahead of its release in January 2026, Nike enlisted some of its top athletes to help promote the Structure Plus. NCAA 5,000m winner Parker Wolfe lauded its stability, structure and impact protection for supporting tired legs, while two-time national 1,500m champion Cooper Teare praised its ability to offer increased cushioning without reducing efficiency. Lastly, 1,500m relay world record holder Karissa Schweizer described its reliable blend of stability and responsiveness, which produces an enjoyable underfoot experience that makes you want to run in the Nike Structure Plus.

With its cutting-edge midsole, supportive structural features and secure, comfortable upper, the Nike Structure Plus is a groundbreaking stability shoe that combines a confident step with a uniquely energetic underfoot feel for long miles of safe, enjoyable training.
