Throughout its history, Nike has developed a plethora of cutting-edge technologies designed to enhance athletic performance. For decades, these were aimed at supporting the body, but in 2026, the brand released a pioneering sensory platform focused on the mind. One of the earliest silhouettes to benefit from this powerful innovation was the Nike Mind 002.

The flexible knit upper of the Mind 002 is filled with engineered perforations that deliver outstanding breathability and moulded padding to enhance comfort at the tongue and heel. The distinctive look of the Nike Mind 002 comes from its groundbreaking sole unit, whose high sidewalls incorporate sculpted curves and shallow dimples. These echo the underfoot nodes, as does the colourful graphic printed alongside the Mind Science Department lettering on the strobel, while the upper delivers textural intrigue through its charismatic perforations and the ribbed structure of its tongue and heel. Minimalist branding adds refined elegance, with the vertical Swoosh on the tongue acting as a subtle yet stylish nod to the Mind platform’s ability to transfer proprioceptive input from the foot up to the brain.

Ahead of the January 2026 launch of the Mind 002, Nike enlisted top athletes to promote the forward-thinking design, with NBA star Victor Wembanyama showcasing its ability to engage the mind-body connection and keep the wearer relaxed throughout long days of travel. The silhouette was further boosted in March, when the brand announced an exclusive edition by long-time collaborator Hiroshi Fujiwara. Taking an experimental approach to the cutting-edge sneaker, Fujiwara introduced a brand new upper material to the Mind 002, decorating it in a sleek, dusky palette and highlighting the nodes in a stunning shade of blue.
