Pairing plush materials with elegant tones, this Air Rift is a charming sneaker. The mesh panelling of its stretchy textile upper features a broad open-cell layer over one with much smaller holes, adding depth and creating a dynamic textured effect. It is infused with a delicate blue-grey tone called Pure Platinum, while its heel and midfoot straps offer a subtle contrast in dapper Wolf Grey. The Nike Air Rift was initially launched in 1996 as a running shoe designed to replicate the feeling of being barefoot. Inspired by the topography of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and the country’s outstanding distance runners, the Rift was known for its unconventional aesthetic and its focus on natural motion, both of which made it a compelling silhouette. Today, it is no longer worn as a sports shoe but rather an easy-going sandal-sneaker hybrid renowned for its everyday comfort and distinctive style.
Nike Air: Encapsulated Air cushioning concealed within the midsole provides soft, bouncy comfort and shock absorption.
Split-toe design isolates the big toe, improving articulation and encouraging natural motion of the foot. It also moves the wearer closer to a barefoot state so that the foot can spread out and form a more stable base.
