Nike teamed up with popular rapper Travis Scott to create this refined Air Force 1 x Travis Scott as part of the 35th anniversary celebrations for the timeless sneaker. It rests on a gum rubber outsole with grip lines that emanate in circles from a point below the heel and another beneath the forefoot. From here, almost everything else is covered in a classic white tone, including the Air-cushioned midsole, whose combination of encapsulated Air and foam padding makes every step comfortable.

The upper is made of a canvas nylon material that fills out each of its different panels, from the rear and forefoot overlays to the midfoot and the toe box. These sections are connected via broad, covered seams that provide extra durability while also bringing a stylish aesthetic to the shoe as they shine in a rainbow of colours when lit up. The edge of the eyestay in particular has a bold look thanks to this feature, giving it a strong boundary that runs in a straight line down each flank before curving slightly at the bottom.

Atop the white laces, which tie up through reinforced metal eyelets, there are some furry Cactus Jack patches and sparkling lace dubraes that emulate Scott’s trademark “Grillz”. Just below this, a tiny swoosh is embroidered into the toe end of the eyestay. At the other end of the white tongue, there is a sewn patch with subtle branding in the same tone. A similar effect can be seen on the heel panel, with Nike Air text embroidered into it in a slightly different shade of white. Like on the tongue patch, the writing has been turned upside down to give this sneaker its own off-kilter feel.

Within the shoe, further branding can be found along with a pleasing burst of colour in the form of a rich red insole. Black Nike Air lettering is printed over it, as is a white rectangle that contains the name of the famous musician written in reverse, with “Travis” on the left foot and “Scott” on the right. Meanwhile, back on the outer, the flanks hold another surprising element – detachable Velcro swooshes. There are three to choose from, including a sleek silver option, one with a 3D reflective diamond effect and another with dark, fiery tones. Combined with the removable tongue patches and lace locks, these interchangeable logos make the sneaker highly customisable, allowing each individual to present it in their own unique way.
