This delicate reworking of the iconic Gel-Kayano 20 effortlessly blends Cecilie Bahnsen’s luxurious couture with ASICS’ sporting prowess. Its Vanilla upper evokes airy linen fabrics, with floral adornments in glistening black contrasting its lustrous Pure Silver panelling. The asymmetric arrangement and D-shaped ringlets of its offbeat lacing system were inspired by the archival Marathon Tabi, which was originally made for Japanese astronauts. Bahnsen’s trademark Mary Jane silhouette aesthetic is rounded off with a reduced tongue, flexible strap and flower-shaped charms. After debuting at Paris Fashion Week, it appeared in a launch campaign featuring Mongolian contortionist and acrobat Heejin Diamond.
