Nike VaporWaffle x sacai

This innovatively designed Nike VaporWaffle x sacai incorporates several doubled-up features onto its off-white upper along with colourful Sport Fuchsia & Game Royal highlights, making for a highly desirable sneaker. As its name suggests, it rests upon a black waffle outsole with blocky grip pads lined up along the forefoot and larger ones supporting its edges. Nike branding has been embossed below the arch of the foot, and a ridged pad loops around the heel to provide all-round traction. Meanwhile, its white foam midsole is divided into two layers that are separated through its back half by a Game Royal wedge. The upper layer curls up and away from this bright blue border, creating an intriguing aesthetic around the back of the foot.

The upper then switches to a Sail-coloured mesh that delivers a sporty look as well as breathability. This is overlaid by plush suede panels in more off-white shades around the toe and eyestay, which accommodates two pairs of laces, one white the other black. A duo of off-white tongues appear over the top of the foot, the primary one covered in mesh just like the upper, the secondary one made of canvas. Each has its own label as well, the first displaying a Sport Fuchsia Nike Sportswear logo, the second a black Nike sacai emblem with a swoosh in the middle.

Inside the shoe, both the lining and the insole are coated in an off-white mesh, a black Nike sacai logo that intermingles the names of the two brands printed onto the sockliner. Back on the outer, the heel hosts a Sail leather overlay with holes in either side below a Sport Fuchsia tab with a white Nike sacai logo in its centre. An off-white textile strip moves up the middle of the heel, a miniature black swoosh at its lower end and a loop at its top that acts as a convenient pull tab when putting the shoe on.

On each flank, a narrow Sport Fuchsia swoosh can be found. The vivid mauve colouration of these instantly recognisable logos works with that of the heel panel to light up the otherwise neutral tones of the upper. Printed proudly over the lateral sidewall is a large black swoosh that reaches all the way from the heel counter to the forefoot overlay, thus finishing off this stylish collaborative sneaker with a bold design detail.
