Nike Air Force 1 Low x Slam Jam

Nike teamed up with street culture fashion retailer Slam Jam to craft this sleek Air Force 1 Low x Slam Jam sneaker. It is primarily black in colour, with the whole sole unit displaying this tone, from the grippy rubber outsole to the spongy midsole, whose lateral heel has been embossed with Air lettering to indicate the cushioning concealed inside.

Smooth black leather continues the theme on the overlays in the forefoot and heel of the upper. The eyestay also comes in this premium material, as does the toe box. The usual lines of perforations in this latter feature have been reorganised into the Slam Jam logo, and the oval-shaped lace dubrae above it is embossed with a tiny swoosh and AF-1 lettering. Dual lacing gives the design an off-kilter aesthetic as a conventional set of laces has been interwoven with another string-like set.

The broad tongue patch has Slam Jam branding beside a Nike swoosh, all of which is black, thus lending it a subtle effect. Within the shoe, the mesh inner lining has the same tone, but the insole is decorated with a captivating black, white and grey graphic that incorporates a large swoosh and the words “AF-1 SJ”. Meanwhile, on the outer, the midfoot panels are made of a flexible mesh, over which Off-Noir suede swooshes have been placed. These plush logos reach along the flanks towards a heel panel in the same colour and material. Embossed within it is one last stylish detail – capitalised Nike Air text that has been flipped upside down for an eccentric finish.
