Jordan 1 High

This unconventional Jordan 1 High is the perfect blend of the Jordan 1 and Jordan 2 silhouettes presented in the iconic Chicago colour scheme. Known as Chicago, The Return, its outsole has been modelled on that of the AJ2, with a small section of concentric circle grip lines below the medial side of the forefoot and more linear tread patterns over the rest. A Jordan-branded section stretches from the heel to the midfoot, and rectangular blocks bring added traction around its edges. All of this comes in the vivid shade of Varsity Red, while the midsole, which is also based on that of the Jordan 2, switches to bright white, forming the first of many tonal contrasts. This chunky feature has a largely smooth surface with a small dimple at the back of the midfoot, and its interior is filled with soft cushioning for maximum comfort underfoot.

Meanwhile, the upper has been built using a series of premium leather panels in the Chicago’s unforgettable trio of colours. White covers the perforated toe box and the midfoot panels, which taper into thinner bands of leather as they stretch around the heel. Varsity Red overlays have been placed over the top of these, firstly with a forefoot mudguard and two panels reaching up from the midsole behind it, then with the eyestay, heel counter and collar wrap. Black laces tie up through several of these leather pieces, including the forefoot overlays, the eyestay and the collar wrap, criss-crossing over a white tongue with a black label sewn into its peak. Varsity Red Nike branding stands out on the surface of this patch, and another set appears in black upon the white insole, which is surrounded by black inner walls.

Beneath the red collar wrap, the collar itself is black, forging another powerful contrast in colour on the high-cut ankle. Another black adornment appears on the lateral side of this overlay as a pair of Jordan Wings has been stamped onto it. Instead of the usual Jordan text in the logo’s banner, this one has Nike lettering, for a unique touch. In the centre of the heel, the Varsity Red of the heel counter and the collar wrap is connected visually by a square piece of leather in the same vibrant tone. Emerging out of this diminutive panel is a pair of black Nike swooshes, each one powering down one of the shoe’s flanks to conclude the classic look of this one-of-a-kind Air Jordan design.
